Protection of national heritage

We have to protect and promote our national heritages whether they are monuments or natural heritages available in our homes, neighborhood, community, village or surroundings. We need to inspect old monasteries, temples, rest houses, stone taps, water channels, drainage, terraces and forests and take necessary steps to protect and maintain them. If our forest is not preserved, properties that are existing in the form of national heritage like birds and animals will disappear. Similarly, important medicinal herbs available in the forest will also be destroyed. When the forest is destroyed , there will be the shortage of fuel. Thousands of rivers in ht country will get dry. Due to the lack  of drinking water and irrigation our fertile land will remain uncultivated. There will be negative impact in every day life of the people. Therefore, all of us should get united to protect the natural heritages that lie in our surroundings. In a similar fashion, it is our main duty to be united in order to march ahead to protect and promote the historical and archaeological objects in our surroundings. They are our valuable heritages.

Construction of modern concrete buildings without norms and standards in an around the seven areas listed in the world heritage list in Kathmandu valley has become a matter of concern. The concern as to how to protect these seven areas has further increased after UNESCO World Heritage Committee, after having found them in danger, warned us. It is according to this very concern, unauthorized building and huts in the Swayambhunath area and Pashupatinath area are being removed.

Similarly, in other areas too, protection committees of concerned area should take essential steps. It is our duty and responsibility to protect and promote natural, historical and archaeological objects of our country. We must protect and promote national properties in our country through co-ordination and mutual coordination.
